About Miss McIntosh

My name is Rebecca McIntosh and I am originally from Pittsfield, Massachusetts. I am the eldest of five siblings and from a young age I grew a passion for reading and writing. God has helped me channel this passion towards the next generation through teaching. I’m very excited to be able to serve at WOLCA for the 5/6th grade ELA class.

God’s plan to transition me from Massachusetts to New York has been developing over a few years. I had visited WOLCA back in 2015 to talk to the children about a book I had published two years earlier. I encouraged the children to work towards reaching their goals and making education a priority. I had the pleasure of meeting Carmen Durst during this time and we instantly connected. Fast forward three years and I was informed that WOLCA was looking for a 5/6th ELA teacher. I was nearing the end of accomplishing my college degree in English Literature Arts and looking for a suitable position to exercise my skills. I got in contact with Carmen and went through the necessary interview process. After prayer, I truly believe God wanted me to share my passion for English Literature with the children at WOLCA.

The mission of the school to help children develop their mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual growth through Biblical teaching and sound education is a philosophy I wholeheartedly embrace. I look forward to the upcoming school year and working with the WOLCA team, parents, and children to fulfill this goal. Excited for the great things God has in store for the future!
